    A marvellous iconic capture.

  • Thank you, Don. This original mini seems tiny compared to the modern day BMW built big sister. Kasia

Superb. The pepper pot wheel trims are as rare as rocking horse sh*t now. Great little cars though. My first car was a green mini van which my sons named Kermit.

  • Colin, thank you! I’m pleased it brought back good memories. My first car was a mini too in a mustard colour. It had so much rust I named it Chip. When the MOT ran out I got enough money from someone who wanted the engine that I could buy myself some winter boots. But I did manage a wonderful short tour through the Highlands in it.

    A proper one too. Sweet.

  • Thanks:-) Yep, there are a couple of proper ones parked in the neighbourhood. This one seems to be pretty well cared for. Kasia

Not just any Mini, a classic Mini! Not the modern version! Yeh Baby Lens Baby!
Love the cobbles! Are they curved or was that an effect from the lens? :o) xx

  • Robin, I’ve changed the title to Classic Mini:-) The cobbles are laid in curving lines but the lens emphasizes them. Kasia

I did think the cobbles must have been laid in curves but then I thought, hang on was that down to the lens? Classic Mini works for me Kasia, owned at least three over the years :o) xx

  • Thanks, Robin. I’ll have to see if I can capture a few more of this Classic Mini and another one that sometimes parks in the area. Kasia

Very very chuckable. If you’ve ever thrown one about you’ll understand how the mighty Mini did so well in the World of Rallying :o) xx

  • I must admit I found the overdrive effect on corners due to the rear-wheel drive and the overall chassis construction a tad perturbing as a newby driver but I can guess what you mean about it being chuckable and fun:-)

Eh; rear wheel drive? On a Mini! are you sure you drove a Mini Kasia or are you just teasing this old petrol head? :o)

  • OOPS, did I get that wrong. But it definitely suffered from the rear end swinging out on corners…

There’s never been a production version of the mini in rear wheel drive to the best of my knowledge. There have been private builds in rear & four wheel drive set ups. It is possible to get the rear to step out but that’s down to the driving style & the light rear end. Mostly this requires a bit to much speed as you enter a corner & a wee application of the handbrake.
But slippy surfaces can help too. Though most likey understeer would be the result.
Sounds like your driving style is very interesting :o) xx

  • Can’t remember using the handbrake entering corners but maybe that was the reason LOL The less said about my driving style the better… Kasia
