Camomile Tea by Kasia-D

The photographic story of development of Camomile plants growing near a small lake. Known as a relaxant and medicinal characteristics. German friends tell me that they think of being sick as kids, as their mothers or grandmothers always gave them this the moment they were under the weather. I actually enjoy drinking this herbal tea:-) So it was relaxing to meet with the plants on a walk round a herb garden.

Location: Bad Clevers, Allgau, Bavaria, Germany.
Nikon D7000, Sigma 50 macro 2.8D. 50 mm, ISO 200. Kneeling on an a mat to get close as these are really small plants – like big daisies but not marguerites:-) Shot in RAW and converted to JPG with Nikon ViewNX 2.0 without any post-pro. Collage layout incl. slight cropping done manually in CS4.

Ohhhh WOWzer, WOWzer. What an outstanding and beautiful work Kasia. An instant FAV for me. Love these fantastic flowers and you’ve shown them to their best with this great collage.

  • Hey, Don. That makes my sore knees worthwhile:-) I spent a couple of hours in a herb garden and found these flowers in a space a couple of feet wide max. Had fun trying to find interesting natural compositions and angles.
The D7000 is WOWzer, as you say. My faithful D200 was great (I was reluctant to change), but this is a great new cam. Just not happy with the kit 18-105 but maybe I’m picky.. Slàinte, Kasia

Oh a lovely kaledioscope-like arrangement of images! Lovely flowers and wonderful DOF in each. So delicate!

  • Kevin, I like your description. Maybe I was influenced by a kaleidoscope image in the back of my mind when I chose the arrangement – I tried quite a few before I went for this. I’m pleased you like it. Thanks and have a great weekend. Kasia
