A view of the BMW Tower, the company’s headquarters, and a glimpse of the BMW Museum from the walkway to the BMW Welt delivery and exhibition centre. Part of the factory can be seen on the left. The tower was originally built in 1972, completed just in time for the Olympic Games, and has been a Munich landmark for almost 40 years, with renovation work in 2004- 2006. The design is based on the four-cylinders of a car engine. It was made a listed building by the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Historic Buildings and Monuments in 1999.

Location: Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
Nikon D200, Tokina 11-16mm. 14mm, ISO 100, f/5 -0.7 stops, 1/2s. Winter evening light. Hand-held.

The colouring in this one is spot on Lassie.
And the placement of the Tower is also just right I think….
    For me it looks great.
I wish I took more dramamtic shots like this one….

  • Larry, thank you for the encouragement. I wish I’d had my tripod as I feel it could have been a tick sharper. As for the placement of the tower. I had another one further to the left but it looked a bit squint due to the wide-angle shot.
As for you – you take lots of amazing and dramatic shots!!! Kasia

great colours and framing of the tower.

  • Paul, thank you. I spent a wee while choosing the composition and trying to avoid the visitors passing. Kasia

    great composition and wonderful tones Kasia . . . . . . . . is that white smiley face really on there ? :))

  • Thanks, Dave, I never noticed the smiley. But I suppose if you’d just picked up your BMW you might have been smiling:-) Maybe that is the effect the architect had in mind!
