The making of:
I chose a neutral, pale yellow background with the tulip positioned in a vase so it wouldn’t move. I then set up a spotlight from a standing lamp to give me the light where I needed it and creating negative space behind the flower. Kneeing on the floor, I settled the camera on my tripod and used the 5 second timer delay to avoid any shake from pressing the shutter. I focussed on the central stamen and took a series with different aperture settings. I was up really close and nearly burnt myself and the cam on the light bulb:-)
