Late afternoon mid March and the clouds are coming in, surrounding the mountain giant and darkening the caldera. Time to head back to the coast. View from the edge of the caldera past Roques de Garcia up to the cloud-capped El Teide peak. Teide National Park was founded in 1954.
In 2007, the area was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status
