Beautiful beach and atmospheric skies on the Isle of Harris (Na Hearadh) in the Outer Hebrides. I loved the contrast of dark clouds and light sunlit sand as well as the reflections of the sky in the water.

Location: The hamlet of Huishinish (Húisinis) lies at the end of a long and winding single-track road on the Abhainn Suidhe penninsula of Harris. The views from the road and the beaches and scenery at the end make the trip well worthwhile. Scotland, UK

Nikon D200. 18-200mm. Captured in RAW.

A favourite spot for photography – alway a great picture to be had here regardless of the weather. Bill

  • Thanks, Bill. It was a memorable visit, with brilliant sunshine and dark clouds all within a space of a short time. You know what it is like, I’m sure. The water and beach almost seemed a little tropical as we approached.
