Islay and its neighbour Jura are famous for their whisky. There are 8 active distilleries on Islay (approx. 3,500 residents) and 1 distillery on Jura (approx. 200 residents).

This view across the sound to the Paps of Jura, the hills in the distance, was captured on the shorefront near the entrance to Bunnahabhain Distillery.

You’ve really capture the Spirit of Islay (fine malt btw :-) )

  • Don, thank you:-)
Islay has 8 active distilleries and excellent malts.
My favourite probably comes from a distillery at the other end of the island.
