Artist's Description

..well, I guess the fish was probably jumping for flies and the bird, a tern, was scanning the loch for flies or small fish. But I was jumping for joy to capture these wonders of Mother Nature.

It was just after dawn at the beginning of June. As I was standing on the small harbour pier quietly photographing the tern on its path over Loch Indaal, I noticed something move out of the corner of my eye. My camera was fixed on my tripod so had limited movement, but I managed to capture the fish which was mid-air and as it twisted and splashed back into the salty waters of the sea loch.

Location: Port Charlotte, Isle of Islay, Inner Hebrides, Scotland, UK.
Nikon D7000, Nikkor 18-200mm. Captured in RAW. Crop, slight straighening and adjustment of contrasts plus compilation in CS4 with NikColorEfex.
