I was fascinated by the folds in the rock that are a witness to the millions of years of development. The coloured fields and rusty coloured earth were also real eye-catchers.

Nikon D200. Sigma 18-200mm. Captured in RAW. Correction of colours, tones, sharpness, neutral grad filter, etc. in CS4 with NikColorEfex.

I love looking out of plane windows, there’s always something magical to see.

  • Don, thank you. I’m fascinated with looking out on the world from above – and so lucky that I’ve had so many opportunities to do so, with and without a cam!

Wow, very impressive, Kasia. I love this photograph; it is rich with detail. I imagined an entire ancient city down there. Please submit this to Solo Exhibition, if you haven’t already.

  • Frannie, thank you so much! I’m thrilled you like it too. I was so pleased that I managed to capture it from the plane. I’ve spent quite a long time on and off looking at the detail in an enlarged version. I’ll submit it to Solo Exhibition right now:-)

i would never have guessed what this shot was at all, thought it may have been a macro shot of some unusal unique something. itr may not be a macro but it is unusal unique bags of visual interest. very well captured kasia

  • Wow, that is wonderful to read! Thank you very much!
This scene was so amazing to see from the aeroplane and I was very pleased to be able to capture it and share here. But as you say, I guess most people don’t realise what it is at all. It really needs to be enlarged to be able to see the incredible details. I’ll have to see if I can do a couple of cropped versions.
