The World of BMW - Die BMW Welt by

Located near the BMW factory in Munich, the photogenic BMW Welt complex houses the delivery centre, events, exhibitions and shops and is linked via this bridge to the BMW Museum and BMW Tower.

This calendar brings together various views of the building and its neighbours taken late on beautifully clear Bavarian winter afternoons. The architecture is so awe-inspiring I didn’t notice the cold, my frozen fingers and chattering teeth until I’d finished:-) Well worth a visit when in Munich, even if you’re not picking up a car!

Location: BMW Welt, Munich, Bavaria, Germany
Nikon D200, Sigma 18-200mm, Tokina 11-16mm.

All the proceeds from sales of this calendar will go towards supporting the Apsara Dancers in Cambodia.

This calendar is dedicated to Bob Culshaw who encouraged me to create this calendar! Thank you, Bob!

Makes me want to go. It also makes me want my car back. I dropped my boat and wiped out the driver’s wing mirror oh, and dented the doors. Been driving in Wolfburg’s “finest” and am fed up feeling sea sick. Enough of my moans. Lovely work Kasia.

  • Ranald, you just have to go! And of course let me know before you do so we can all meet up for a delicious Bavarian beer.
Wolfsburg and the VW daughters (as they say in German) produces some of the finest cars in the world! Kasia

wow great collection Kasia. it is indeed a fantastic building and this captures it extremely well

  • Paul, thank you. It really is fantastic. My first visit wasn’t planned – I just happened to pass and the light was amazing and I swerved into the carpark nearly causing a collision. This was a year later when I got my wide-angle lense. You’ve gotta go at dusk and winter dusk in Bavaria is stunning on a clear day.
That means you have to go back again, of course. Kasia

Ah, perhaps the daughters do but, they are behind the sons of Stutgart and they are behind the sons of Munich. (Smile, my X-1 comes home tomorrow).

  • I don’t agree about the daughters but that is maybe a matter of taste and to do with the debate whether front or rear-wheel drive:-) Kasia

Wow Kasia – was I right or was I right? This collection is amazing. Fantastic architecture and fantastic photography. I think BMW should buy this and send 50 out to each Distributor around the world = particularly as you are donating the proceeds to such a good cause – bless you for this. I am absolutely flattered to have this dedicated to me, and delighted, and proud – what else can I say – it such a lovely thing to do and say. If ever you need a mentor…. I wish you every success in the world with this Kasia, it is amazing. In my opinion it works beautifully as a calendar. Best regards. Bob xx

  • Bob, thank you. I hoped you’d like it:-) You’ve encouraged me to make this one but also with my work in general!

I bought one for myself and must say it looks good, friends have also suggested sending it to BMW, so maybe I’ll give it a go. Kasia
