A Little About Me, My Work And My Equipment:

I have been interested in photography since I was a kid, learning to use my dad’s old Nikon EM, which he still has and is a superb old workhorse.

I use three different cameras for different areas of my work.
I use a Canon S3 IS for macro and super macro as the options for that sort of work on this little beauty are second to none, allowing you to keep subjects in focus even when they are touching the lens!

For general work I use a Canon EOS 40D. This is a chunky full body camera with bags of potential for pro’s and serious enthusiasts. I love it.

And finally, I also have a trusty never fail 35mm Film SLR, a Canon 3000V. I use mainly Ilford HP5 Plus ISO 400 film which is probably the best Black and White film out there. It now costs around $20 to get 36 exposures developed which I think is a travesty. We photographers should strive to keep film alive in this digital age.

As you can see I do like Canon. I find them to offer the best product range, best prices and best lens choice of any manufacturer. Their gear is second to none. When in doubt, choose Canon- you won’t be dissapointed.

My work is mostly done while exploring, but I do try to take as many pictures as possible of life around me. I am currently working to imrpove my street photography, having been inspired by several people on RB and the legendary Don McCullin.
