Memorial Service of Aunt Gertrude

Oye
ya know
I had this old aunt Gertrude

She was those
called sucha spiritual
and that she was

And soo better
than anyone else
what she thought

Friends?
Naa she didn’t have
Ya know why

She never said anything
directly
Not even to her dog

No wonder
he bite her
Twice

Oo, she was clever,
everything
she said

was to read
‘between the lines’
And that was why

everyone thought
‘between the lines’
“What a bitch!”

I was the only relative
you know
and got surprised

when her funeral came
and house was full
Nobody said nothing

Priest asked why
nobody spoke a word
for the passed one

When they hoorayd
and started to drink

One shouted
from the lines
“She knows how to read between the lines!”

Oye,
such a bitch was
my aunt Gertrude

And I can’t say I miss her
Never understood
what was “between the lines”

Naa, I did
But I played dumb

Just for fun
