Daughter of famous swiss contemporary artist Jean-Louis Getaz (1931-2002), Karin Getaz was born in 1974, in Chateau-d’Oex ,Switzerland. In 2000, she arrives in Australia.
Self taught artist, Karin lives by the Grat Barrier Reef, on her chinese junk, the Madam Wong, where she finds her inspirations.
Her particular, fine,emotionnaly based, unusal, mostly abstract works are certainely influenced by the elements, the colors and moods of Australia.
Essentially working with pencils for many years, Karin recently introduced color in her prodjects.
