Finally finished it, after working on it on and off for ages. At one stage I thought I had gone a bit too far and didn’t know what to do with it, but now I think I’m happy with the result. It’s not a very large painting. It’s watercolour on Arches paper, approximately A 4 size.

Thank you to Gregory Pastollabout for the lovely poem. Here is his comment and poem.

“Hello Karin, nice title, and a fun painting. I could not help bursting into rhyme at the thought of it. Here’s my companion-piece to your sea-bottom-scape:”

There’s an art to the fart of a flatulent fish:
You let it out slowly, as soft as you wish,
But then, it makes bubbles that shout, pretty clear
That something quite fishy was going on here!

I saw the title and thought, NO. It says facts, not farts. LOL! Thank you for this giggle tonight. Fun and beautiful. :o)

  • Oh, thank you for the wonderful compliment, Bunny ! I did an earlier Fish Farts, and thought this one was a similar style, hence the Fish Farts 2. My husband didn’t like the title. He thought I could have thought of a better title. He has no sense of humour, me thinks. : )

Karin you do such awesome work great colors n shapes everything works well together : ))

  • Wow, thank you, Bingo, that’s a really great comment, and good feedback. It was challenging to make it work with so many colours fighting for attention, I had to tone down some parts. I was actually surprised that it came out ok in the end.

Oooh! I really love your work Karin, and I absolutely LOVE that title!

  • Thank you, Lynda ! You always say the nicest comments. I think the fish on the left must have farted…he is all read in the face. He must be embarrassed, ha, ha.
