Here’s a bit of fun.
Watercolor on Arches paper.
28 cm x 19 cm
This is an experimental piece I did just for fun. I was really just playing with my watercolors, trying out new techniques. I started with an underpainting, and then painted the abstract fish over the top after it dried. In some areas you can see the salt effects, which is a favorite technique, as well as glazing of one color over another.

Karen, your use of colors is wonderful. The rock salt really works in this piece. your design is excellent, too, but what really stands out the most is the freshness of your washes. Lovely. Do you use arches 300 lb. or 140 lb. and is this cold or hot press? Your cats are all fabulous but this painting really shows off your command of watercolor. Nice job. Sally

Beautiful colours and technique. Brought a smile and zing at 7.30am ….and believe me usually there is very little zing so early. Thankyou!
