lighthouse keepers soul

I want to be a lighthouse keeper
and live far far away
so I can roam the hilltops
and befriend the breeze that plays
With gulls for my companions
I’d live on milk and cheese
feast on berries from the mulberry bush
and honey from the bees
I would sit and watch the wildflowers
and seasons as they change
I would dwell on higher things
all this I would exchange
to live a simpler life
to find my rightful home
away from all encumbrance
where souls can soar and roam
I’d paint vast skies on canvas
write the sunrise melody
I’d sing a song of freedom
making mele of all melee

if someone said to me ‘what would be your dream’ ….it would be living on an island or being a lighthouse keeper, I would paint vast skies on canvas and be free of all encumbrances, and find peace my soul is longing for.
