my song

I wrote you a love song
and strung it on a clothesline
notes bled into notes
. . . lost in the foreverness of time

I spun the berries into wine
yes my love I laboured long
fingers worn and torn
. . .purple stains upon my hemline

Splash me to the ground
sip the passion from my lips
love me tendrils wound round
. . . oh so endlessly we’re bound

I picked the apples sweet
and tenderised them long
seasoned them with cinnamon
. . . but you were my true song

wow written in a pen dipped in sugar and spice …really so beautiful are your words juggled and balanced…….truly sweet and tender like a poem a man would want to find a woman had left for him to discover in some draw in his work bench one he would hide away and keep just to himself.

  • wow Loui, I’ve been drifting on a cloud ever since I read this, it’s so nice to get such a terrific nod from you, it means so much to me! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my work, and giving such delightful feedback, it made my day :)
