poemia

Encased by humid air
Laid low in my cocoon
Nestled deep asleep
I slumbered in the tomb

Let Sun come forth I bled
Tho Moon may take a leap
Thru ancient years I trust
My rusty soul shall reap

And far beyond the Stars
And well beneath the Fray
I learned the Song of Sustenance
To ease the Pain of Day

I sang it to the Wind
I sold it on the Breeze
I ran to where it hurt
I blessed the bruis-ed knees
I prayed the Prayer of Peace

And lo, beneath the wood pile
Where lonely Stones did lay
They spoke of Cold and Damp
Combined with earthen clay

I stooped and clambered up
Tho clumsy and decayed
From underneath the rot
Revealed my drawn face
I paid the Price of Peace

Submerged a fathom deep
Emerging like the Dew
By Sun and Wind and Rain
I stand re-freshed a-new
