G'morning

That delicious first moment upon waking, caught between the weightlessness of subconsious dreaming and realities of consciousness on waking, the room sunny and warmer now, with light streaming and little magical light plays, reflecting on surfaces and providing some gentle amusement before the bigger things you have to do, make their mind entrance and shatter the spell. Imagine if only the day were like this in every moment, what peace would be ours and how blissful our lives. Gradually, your ears begin to hear again the sounds of morning, clocks are ticking that you couldn’t hear a moment ago, the air is sighing and yawning awake to a new day, the dawn broke so long ago and some sleepy heads are still snoring. The comforting sound of a car driving past at just the right speed, says hello in a friendly sort of way and the truck passing reminds me of the grind of engines and how the new day brings with it work and chores and I sigh a deep deep sigh. I wonder why my clocks ticking will not synchronise themselves to tick at the same time and how I only notice their ticking in the early morning rising and late to sleep settling down, all other times I would have no sense of them, yet now, they interrupt my thoughts and I wish time away. Contemplate leaving the bed, only the thought of a steaming hot brew will make me rise and shine…and I succumb to the day….until my rendevous with the moon and the stars again tonight.

Oh Karin I dream of those times, for in reality I’m woken by the shock of an alarm or by the realisation of what has to be done… the time ’tween sleep and full consciousness is but a memory… Your words conjure that beautifully ;) x

  • aaw, Matt…I think that is the reality of most people…being the night owl that I am, I generally get a few mins of quiet in the morning and it’s very lovely, I am so fortunate to be able to experience that….I hadn’t realised until you spoke up, just how lucky I am really. xx thanks so much!! xx

G-morning Karin; pleased to hear Scott is with you tonight. I love that feeling of being caught between the weightlessness of subconsious dreaming and realities of consciousness on waking (so long as I don’t need to hurry to get anywhere!). Sometimes I’ll be awake with some sleepy head still snoring – the problem with that though is it is hard finding a good time to vacuum the place :P. Well, just like the changing season that makes you appreciate spring all the more, enjoy the day when you can!

  • Oh yes, it’s a lovely feeling isn’t it….and very difficult to get jobs done if someone is still fast asleep and you don’t wish to disturb them ;) Oh yes, it’s great to have him (Scott) home, he’s fast asleep already …there’s that sleepy head still snoring…haha…but when I wake he’ll already be gone to work…so I will be the sleepy head still snoring in the morning…that kinda rhymes…and now it’s time for me to get some sleep myself….and so g’nite dear Mui-Ling and sweet dreams!! :)
