Life's Little Adventurers

work in progress – “Life’s Little Adventurers”

Let’s launch the boat on the high tide,
we’ll fly and soar as the seagulls,
wide and high, free and wise,
we won’t look back in anger
nor remember our ailments
resentment shall be a thing of the past
what was shall pale in the beauty of the moon
and the stars and the sky and the sea
they will be our newfound friends
lulling us to sleep in their comforting
tones and lighting our way forward.

Wherever there is dismay and suffering
we shall smile warmth and love
wherever there is discontent and singlemindness
we shall bring harmony and reduce tension
promoting peace as the harbinger of all life
overshadowing all torment
and where there is an aching heart
we will remedy that with songs that heal
and stories that bring hope to the bystanders
seeking relevance and relief from betrayal.

And when our boat is in need of repair
we will have befriended the barnacles
who by their goodwill and tiny nature
are able to mend whole hulls and
knit together shell like communites, so strong,
no storm can move them as they huddle together for strength
there is strength in numbers, yet there is also strength
in a singular voice…either way, truth is spoken
hearts are healed, wars are won and lost
but we remain; the wounded, the weary,
the travellers….in one boat, under one sky,
sharing the same stars, the same moon, the same
nourishing sun and rains…..made of the same
materials….decomposing into dust….all are one

Amazing how far we are all from each other – so much so we can escape to places people won’t find us – places where we can forget about the past and whatever is still going where we left behind, but we would still be looking at the same sun, the same sky, the same moon, drink from the same water and breath the same air. We go else to find the comfort, but all the while it is still the same place.

  • beautiful response thank you so much Mui-Ling…yes….we share something in common, despite the great distance and oceans between us…..the warmth of the sun on our face, the breath of the wind in our sails, the quenching of our thirst from the same source of rains as they fall from the heavens…xox

Wonderful to soak in all of your creativity, Karin: your writing and drawings and paintings. I enjoyed the video and the song, too!
