humility

All the flowers turned their heads toward the golden sun and stared, saying not a word, there was such a hush over the garden, even the little grasses grew silent and the dew was solemn. The earth, baking brown and dry, thirsted for some fresh news of Rain, but there was to be none. Sun would shine her glory all day and make way for no one else. Sun knew how to command a moment and delighted in having the dedication of the entire garden, however Sky, Cloud and Rain were jealous fellows and poised silently in the background, waiting for their chance to obscure the Sun. Slowly, Cloud snuck up on her, busy smiling at her admiring worshippers and before Sun could sneak another peak at herself in the mirror, Cloud had obscured her beauty and below there was a loud communal gasp in the garden. As much as they loved their Sun, they had been parched and dry for so long, wondering whether a good thing, is always such a good thing if indulged too much. With Cloud heralding the way, Rain burst forth and showered a good few drops, which tasted like honeyed wine on the lips of the little merchants below and Sun realised her place and understood…..she must share the limelight with others. Sky smiled upon the scene and ushered in Rainbow to take a bow.
