she smiled like an angel

We crossed over the canyon of despair
and I looked directly into the eye of a daisy
who spoke to me with a soulful song
it sang in timbre tones through the rainbow in the rain
pure and sweet with intensity and integrity
showing that the tender things have strength and tenacity
and I noticed that the heavens opened
and poured down the rain upon the little daisy’s head
and under the weight of it all
she fell to the ground, but not in despair
she was full of praise for the earth and the sun
and had not come undone despite the tough terrain
and the pouring thunder of the rain
just as the sun peeped out behind a cloud
she rose her little head, half spent but deliriously happy
sneezed in one, two and three syllable lots
and smiled like an angel
