tamarind jelly

and the sea
sang to me
one more
salty song
pepper me
with pebbles
now tumble along
tussling shoreward
stumbling north
shifting soft sands
shaping new lands
I wear
traveller’s threads
thru life’s lonely
demands

where the
sun once set
like a tamarind
jelly
the moon has
risen
on earth’s
soft silken belly

navigate winds
the seagull sings
drift me to shore
far away from the
moors…

where the sun
never shines
and the rocky
mount lions
sing sallow
with sorrow
my poor
beggar fellow
the soil is
now fallow
your crown
wizened grey

tamarind jelly
