sand in my shoes

I walked for miles and smiles
along the sand dunes
just to arrive and thrive again
near those swirling deep waters
around the buried wrecks
Just to come alive again
with the sharp salt air drawn
in thru my lungs and whipping
down upon my face
freezing my fingers off
remember those days
we all saw the hammerhead
a mixed bag of licorice allsorts
in those waters
at the place where
blood once stained the shores
in disgrace
oh then… Ouch, you hit your head
we laughed and saw the beam
that struck you and
the moray and I got friendly not !
I got such a fright as he
globbed and glubbed at me
getting scared in the dark
with the soft sand in my shoes
I miss you island home
I miss you my dolphin companions
the soft sand in my shoes
reminds me of you
