Eskimo in a kimono

The dark seemed warmer and kinder
I felt like an Eskimo in a kimono
rubbing noses in the desert
while the butterflies were pleasant
and the circus stopped the show
capo in the corner like a sweet reminder
of the music that may possibly ensue
so put it down on paper
grind your pencil with the shaper
til it’s nib is pointy sharp and witty ended
let’s singsong of our days
beneath the sun’s warm rays
and the campfire burning drifting
us to sleep
