On Morning's Cusp

On Morning’s Cusp by Karin Taylor
28 May 2014 (copyright)

On morning’s cusp as dawn breaks heaven’s slumber
I rest with ease of one unencumbered
waking quietly to that nothing in between
unconscious yet conscious, sounds are nought
I am nothing yet, but breath in stillness
shrouded by sleep that lingers on, half here
half there, in a pleasant state of painlessness
and perfection, feeling no urge to rise and fall
no sense of urgency to complete the tasks I must.
