Translucent Bruises
Like Shadows of Trees
Who have Caved Creatures
and Carved Futures

Translucent Bruises
Like Conscious Moments
of Painful Promises unkept
and Lost Lucidity
I wept

Translucent Bruises
Become my Muses
Ancient Musty Smells
Scenting Decades of Silk
ascend into Lace by the
Moth’s ceaseless Facade
Chewing through the Face
Tuning the Fabric
to so enhance and enchant

Translucent Bruises
Nameless and Faceless
Yet Vanity asks and
the Poised Pen demands
Answers to Questions
Nuances like etchings
Hold back the key to
Hidden Messages Lost
Between the Lines

Translucent Bruises
Agony Transcends Disguise
Before our Eyes
Autumn Pain is Somehow Gain
Shadows reveal Forms
when Light Recedes Somewhat
and Truth Emerges

Autumn Pain is Somehow gain, there is indeed lots to learn from pain, and lots to grow out of it. Many people who we see who look happy today have went through much pain; and we may not realize it right away because their bruises are translucent. Lovely work Karin.

  • You are so insightful Mui-Ling, thanks so much for your thoughtful response, I always admire those who are happy despite tragic and difficult circumstances, they have much to teach us :) x
