Enchantress of Time | Karin Taylor

solitary silent
you blow thru my mind flickering
in a ghostlike transition
from farmer to musician
we danced to the song of bravery
in the land of dreams and mystery
long before the living now dead
sang their songs full of fire
I packed the leaves of Autumn
in my suitcase and we never forgot
the meaning of life
living just above the net
where feet don’t touch the ground
we walked the tightrope together
fearing not and having found
in the memories that are not mine
begotten thru suffering and sacrifice
over eons of time
it became my sage practice
to sell the leaves of Autumn for a price
Fear not, we said, you’ve reached beyond
into the future and are alive and yet able
you are set apart and clear minded with purpose
and we set out, rowing through June and July
stringing a sheet for shade and navigation
into the summer solstice of negative time
and sands through time reminded us of Pi
the neverending eternal everlastingness
of flow and ebb, of life and death
the emptiness of nothing and the
everythingness of all
lifegiving endeavours
were ours
extended to us in exceeding generosity
