hit me up

a whatever poem

candy stripes are adequate for circulatory systems
that like the certain elementary necessary fizziness
I myself prefer black pearls and silver crossing palms
I am a happy wanderer I love ice-blue and pretty charms
I visited a rose once, she smelled so lover-ly
I shot it up my veins some and spared the melancholy
I prefer the daisy though, it smacks of ecstacy
it’s pure and it’s happy and I am it’s devotee

…by way of explanation – my drug of choice is ‘nature’ and
since ‘hit me up’ could be misconstrued, what is meant by
the term, is ‘I am due for another hit of nature’ :)

Very whimsical and yet speaks a volume of how to take life. There is nothing like a natural high. So glad to hear it with your words.

  • Thank you so much Iris, it’s so nice to see you, I hope life is treating you well…..there’s really nothing like nature is there, it always makes me feel so much happier, it is a natural healer :)

Very Lovely Karin , Nothing like a Natures High :)

  • Thank you so much Brit! It’s so true, I’ve also found that some time in nature helps by bringing some perspective, enabling a more balanced view, when it has been hard to see the way forward. :)

it is a regret of mine that many a time i do not get the oppurtunity to read as much as i would like to here on RB…this is of course simply due to time restraints itself, for i do love to read but have found there is just so much to read in our world today…some times i think i am reading a half dozen books simultaneously (this may include a graphic novel as well as something with more substance like Kafka or Nabokov , some pulp
fiction and or re-reading (as i do constantly) my favorite poetry books…throw in a biography or two and i am swamped) but when i do get around to reading something here on RB i am so pleased when it is something so well crafted and beautifully whimsical as this beautiful little piece…yes as someone has mentioned in your comments and as i have before (i think, or should have) you have a way of being able to deconstruct your vision from illustrative works to writing and even photography…they are all from the same incubus from that lyrical heart warming persona who creates such an innocent world of joy. Karin.

  • Thank you so much Loui, I understand, you are so busy and have so much you want and need to accomplish and only have so much reading time, if only there were more hours in each day, so I appreciate your comments even more, knowing that. You are right, I think you have mentioned before that somehow the poetry, prose, paintings and photography have something in them that is intrinsically me. I don’t know how that is, or why it happens. It is not something that there is a formula for, I just try to access the creativity from the same place of flow, whatever it is I am doing. It seems to me, like a child skipping in a rope, they skip in from the side, while the rope continues swinging, and slip out again. I think that the place of creativity is where the rope is swinging and I just enter and exit at will, when I am ready. I didn’t realise that this came across, but I think it’s very nice that you notice and point out that it does. I really value your thoughts and comments very much Loui, thank you.
