halcyon days by © Karin Taylor

Available to buy on…

I took this photograph this morning, the wind had come up and it was approaching midday, this is just out of the front of someone’s garden near where I live, I don’t think it’s wheat, but it looks like wheat, I guess it’s some kind of grass.

I really love the effect of it against the sky, it gives you the feeling you are laying down somewhere in a field or a paddock looking up at the sky on a beautiful warm day with a gentle breeze blowing, with no threat of a storm or bad weather up ahead, just blue skies and clear sailing, and I think I like it too, because it’s just a little bit surreal with the changes made to the colour of the sky and grass. I hope you like it!.

Taken at midday on 4th day of September 2012 (spring) Australia with Canon PowerShot G11 digital camera and processed in Photoshop CS4 and Nik Color Efex Pro 4.

Very nice; I love the colour; the gold tones look beautiful against the faded down blue sky!

  • thank you so much Mui-Ling, so happy you like it, the sky was very blue yesterday (and today) so I toned it down somewhat, so glad you like the hues :)

Beautiful, wistful and for some reason brings back happy memories…. x

  • thank you Jane, that’s just wonderful, perhaps it is the feeling that I had also, somehow through the tones brings a sense of nostalgia…..like notes in music, some sets of notes are proven to bring about certain feelings, such as the minors. Perhaps the same or similar thing happens to us in a visual sense :) x
