I took this by plucking them and wedging them between my knees, lying down in the grass beside the pathway and shooting up to the sky, so it would be against a blue background …I ended up with some little creature buzzing away in my hair, seemingly lost…but it was worth it I thought to capture this pretty wild coastal flower, there are masses of them, it’s like a vine, no idea whether it’s friend or foe (weed or native)….but pretty it was, oh yes, pretty :) I hope you like it, I’ve processed this in Photoshop CS4 and Nik Color Efex Pro 4 software. I took the image with a Canon G11 PowerShot digital camera.

Love your description, Karin! Rather sounds like me! I used to be self conscious about the various contortions I would get myself in….but, have long ago shed what little dignity I had left and don’t care if I am lying in a puddle of mud to get a shot! LOVE this! So girly! And your knee/sky treatment was a stroke of genius!

  • lol..that’s so funny Karen!! I must have looked very silly!!! Today a lady approached me just as i was about to take a shot cos she was worried I was interested in her weeds, lol…I took the shot and showed her what I was really up to and we had a nice chat with her and her little girl…..it’s a nice way to meet new people too :) x
