free as a bird by © Karin Taylor

Available to buy on…

This painting is called “free as a bird” and is a digital artwork. I’ve tried to impart an organic feel despite this being a digital work. I’m very pleased with the outcome and hope to do more of this type of work. The background created in photoshop (says ’the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"). Foreground created in cpencils on iPad with stylus. Thanks so much for looking at my work, I hope you enjoy it :)

This is very cute Karin; and I think you did a fine job in bringing out the organic feel out of a digital work. Though I do remember those drawings you did by hand then coloured by computer; those were very fine and flowing too. I love the tones you use that makes this very intimate and in the moment; but that doesn’t take away the energy of the subject in motion, and the words also make it so poetic and narrative. Very lovely :)

  • thank you so much for your lovely response Mui-Ling, I really appreciate it :)

I love her she is very nice! i think you did a great digital that still looks like it is traditionaly drawn. I was thinking maybe you painted on printed paper.

  • thank you so much, I’m glad that she looks traditionally drawn, that was my intention, I made the background myself, to look like I’d used some old printed map paper :)
