‘Asia Series’ card by Karin Taylor

A more serious piece this time. A painting inspired by the art form of the Geisha. Her discipline and strength I admire. I have used ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels to create Geisha Girl. The original painting is no longer available, but so glad she can come to you in the form of a greeting card. I hope you like her :D

wow.. so many works in one day.. am getting an overdose here.. hehehe….
love this one.. definitely more serious.. i’ve seen documentaries on geisha, how they have to train etc.. really not a easy life.. i love the way u paint the back of her neck most..

  • thanks again frozenfa :D glad you like. I love the back of their neck too…when I was painting it I was imagining how difficult it would be to do on the body itself – trying to get it so perfect – the japanese men think the nape of the neck is very ….ummm how should I put this ….attractive!

I presume you didn’t whip these up in a day, Karin!

  • ElRobbo! that got a big laugh!!! Nope, these were done a while ago…I’ll be uploading my beach/friends series next, and then I may pop in a tshirt or two using my digital art. Most of this was also created a while ago too, but I’m having lots of fun uploading them and scoring all these lovely comments!!! Prior to this, I was definitely experiencing an encouragement drought. I feel so much better…..ahhhhhhhh…thanx
