The Rainbow Warriors of Bubblegum Bay
The Rainbow Warriors were fast becoming news in the wilds of Bubblegum Bay, seeking rainbows to bring home to the village of All Bright Colours, the village was drowning in a Sea of Black and White. Why was the village of All Bright Colours drowning in a Sea of Black and White you may ask. It seems someone had pulled the plug and the colour was draining away, meanwhile the Sea of Black and White was growing vaster each day and naturally spread to the shores of Bubblegum Bay….they needed a plan.
It was one special day hunting far afield in the unfriendly but colourful Valley of Verdant Spring Mosses…that the seven detectives came upon Rainbows embedded in the Sea of Tranquility. The Rainbows were not of any particular colour and yet the lit up the region from tip to toe in a crown of glorious colour…so bright, it was hard to see without their dark glasses… unfortunately no one had thought to bring any dark glasses with them, so they were blinded by the light.
After 3 days and nights leaning under a cool mossy tree, and sipping rainbow drinks from the generous lollied waters, the little group regained their sight and nudged the Rainbow all the way back home.
There was rejoicing in the town of All Bright Colours in the vicinity of Bubblegum Bay that day…and the Sea of Black and White ebbed back beyond the Dark Grey Forest, a lot of it mixing in with the coloured lolly water creating by dropping the rainbow into the Bay…..leaving the inhabitants to enjoy the newfound colour … each one fashioned a pair of spectacles with a piece of coloured cellophane over each eye, until they could tolerate the bright glowing lights..happy and content that colour had returned to their village

It’s a joy and privilege to create little offerings to share, a taste of nostalgia, a little warmth for the heart in a moment of reflection. I enjoy illustrating for children and the inner child.
