My Paper Dress Impressed the Moon

I heard the ocean call to me
I got dressed up and went to sea

My little boat stayed well afloat
and told my dress it was a ‘paper dream’…

I asked the moon
if I could borrow the stars
to wear in my hair
and it answered me with a moonbeam…

My paper dress impressed the moon !

The painting began as a simple pencil drawing on paper, to which I’ve added some ‘chyogami’ paper which my friend Fa gave me.

I then stuck cello over the top and with my glass nib pen all inked up, i wrote the poem you see above all around her hair etc….

Well, I’ve had this drawing for ages now and almost forgotten about her. Today, i found her again, and thought it was about time I paid her some attention. Here she is 7 hours later, all painted and looking pretty, out there on the ocean in her little boat, with her paper dress on, impressing the moon…..this one has a bit of a darker, more gothic look…a bit different from what I usually do….but still sweet enough for you I hope lol :)))
