CHUNKIE Guardian Angel wears a beautiful dress made of raffia ribbon and sculpey clay, her hair is made from sculpey clay and her head from terracotta and natural air drying clay…. her wings are feathers…and the cloud is made from soft toy stuffing…the background is from a photoframe…the board itself gives it some nice texture….the halo is a plastic silver ring and the light was done in photoshop. Her sash is a beautiful thread combination.
CHUNKIE Guardian Angel is the sweetest of all the angels, her heart is always in the right place…she makes a lovely gift for newborn children and their parents, or a special christmas card, etc.
*This is the traditional Catholic prayer to one’s guardian angel.
Angel of God, my guardian dear
to whom God’s love commits me here.
Ever this day/night be at my side
to light, to guard, to rule and guide.
qui custos es mei,
me, tibi commissum pietate superna,
rege et guberna.
I have always believed in angels, i love where it says that God sees the faces of the angels when his little ones are in trouble, and that’s how he knows we need help.
Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …
