CHUNKIE Calendar Series One now available

Chunkies are a new series of figurines I am working on ..

CHUNKIE Birthday Fairy

CHUNKIE Lotus Love on Golden Pond

CHUNKIE Sunshinel

CHUNKY Elephant

CHUNKIE Ballerina

CHUNKIE Hula girl
CHUNKIES in love

CHUNKIE Lollipop Lover

CHUNKIE Tooth Fairy
Next in line is CHUNKIE Indian ….a little indian squaw who reminds me of Pocahontas…she is standing near her tee pee, making friends with all the birds that flock to her each day, because she is gentle and kindly and sings them sweet songs…

Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

are they cotton ear tips died??? You’re so creative.

  • hehe….no, but good guessin…would you believe they are actually flower buds from the little tree in my neighbours backyard which overhangs our fence…that’s what the flowers look like before they bloom (the same flower I’ve used in a lot of the CHUNKIES) :) xx

Amazing details…they just get better & better. And your photoshop work is soooo good….you’ve taken to it so well. Keep ‘em coming….can’t wait to see what’s next.

  • aw, thank you Chris…so pleased you think it’s a good one….the photoshopping takes a fair while, which i tend to forget about, that each one needs a time allocation just to work on that aspect…hehe…but it’s very enjoyable getting lost in the time portal!

I have to consider which one i’ll do next now…hmmm, could be a ………..pirate?

Matt T asked me whether i’ll do a diver, i’d like to (with mask/snorkel/flippers i guess) but geez it could be a tricky one :) lol

am happy to be “back” too Karin!! especially to comment on your works here~ XD
am absolutely loving these chunkies series of yours, i’m sure you know.. in fact, am working on getting 1 surprise for you~ kekeke… XD
ps: just wondering.. will your neighbor’s tree suddenly go bare one day? hehehehe!!! XD

  • giggles…i hope not….i just sneak up to the fence…which is higher than my head…and reach up sneaky as i can…and pluck whatever i can reach….the only other flowers in our garden at the moment are the frangipanis over the other side of the fence…and they are too large…although I could resize them, i didn’t think of that :)

Let’s hope the neighbours never find out hey ;) although they are really nice people, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind too much !
