Rainbow Elephant is coming to a tee near you..yes hopefully in the next hour or so, i will have her ready as a tshirt too….. hope you like her, she’s a mixed media production…mainly pastels (chalk) on yellow pastel paper….plus charcoal and a small amount of acrylic! I did this ages ago…but only just learned how to fix her up in photoshop ato make her available…hope you like her :)

i love to show your works to my friends, they’ll all marvel at your use of colors, Karin!! one even asked if you drew first then paint, or paint first.. i was like.. i dunno, Karin’s da master, not me~ lolz!! love the colors for this piece, Karin!! very well blended, very smooth and love it on black! XD

i always draw first …. so now you can tell them :)
i get an idea, i sketch a thumbnail to get proportions right
then i outline in a darker colour…apply colour, sometimes acrylic and sometimes pastel
I find pastel so beautiful for skin tones… and the brown paper works incredibly well as a skin tone base….where just adding highlights and shading works a treat
After i paint in with the acrylic, i love to shade as much as possible using charcoal and pastels…. ahh, giving away all my secrets here :)
