While visiting Tangalooma Island Resort during April 2013, we witnessed the wonderful site of 10-11 wild dolphins visiting the shore on 7 occasions, each night, just on sundown. Among the dolphins were two beautiful playful and cheeky little dolphin babies, named Luna (the larger) and Cruze (the smaller). They played and tumbled, much as toddlers or young children do, with Luna trying to steal food from the adults mouths…and poking Cruze, until he turned upside down, in what seemed to be a submissive position. It was all most fascinating, I have been visiting Tangalooma on Moreton Island since I was 14, and am now 48, so it’s been over 30 years and every time is special and different, healing and wholesome. Each encounter is unique. The little dolphins inspired me to draw them, I hope you like this painting. It’s a pencil drawing, photographed and painted in Procreate for iPad with some adjustments in Photoshop CS4. Thank you very much for visiting and if you’d like to see more of my art, prints, etc. please click here
