My latest painting “I Drank from the Clouds” is a digital painting created in Procreate for iPad. I’ve named my painting after a poem I wrote a couple of years ago. The poem is in the painting, you can see the girl is holding a journal, that is actually a photograph of my journal with the poem handwritten into there. Here is the poem (there is also an audio recording of it by me):

Listen to the audio recording by me here

I Drank from the Clouds
by Karin Taylor

I drank from the clouds
swam in blue satin
flew from the sun to
the crystalline mountains

I sailed on the air
powered only by pollen
sat in the centre
of all that’s unknown

I talked with the stars
Caressed the wild stallions
Slept in the ocean
Broke bread with the falcons

I circled the earth
Collecting wild species
Rummaging op shops
Finding more treasures

I built a dress
From webs in my pocket
Fashioning pearls from the
Tears in my locket

I saw the white dove
Touched every texture
Stared at the beauty
Of what is forever

I opened a flower
Looked into a heart
Played with the elephants
Who created some art

I went to the rain
Wherever it was and
Played practical jokes
On the bees and the wasps

I met a tree person
With fortunate leaves
Provided me shelter
For thirty three eves

I sang out of tune
It didn’t much matter
The rain drowned it out
Pitter patter patter patter
