Once upon a daydream were two very sweet and rather peculiar marsupials, they were tiny hybrids sporting the spots of a quoll, the face of a sugar glider and the body and tail of a mouse. They lived for sniffing flowers and hugging others, they were of the genre ‘hippy mouse’ of which little is known. They are a rare species only found in fairy tales and the very active imagination. The more well recognised name is ‘Blossom Buddies’, a very rare strain that show a patterned face, with a running stitch, which resembles a stuffed toy. They spend a great deal of time lazing about in the sunshine and get busy at night looking for nectar to fill their little tummies.

Such a wild imagination you have (and not just because the creatures are wild)! This is so adorable and love the story!

  • Thanks so much Mui-Ling… i don’t seem to dream them up, however, they just appear on the page as I draw, I never know what will happen :)

  • The stories are usually created after the picture, the picture then tells me a story. I find it much harder to write a story and then try to illustrate it.
