‘Friends Series’ Spring Fairy by Karin Taylor
Spring Fairy comes from a detail of One Spring Day which is a mixed media production (ink, pastel, charcoal, acrylic) on canvas textured paper. I have also used a variety of found objects, including lace and ribbons…and an especially beautiful gold paint for the wings which were underpainted first to created texture.
On of my favourite paintings, my heart and soul went into this piece…two sweet little girls in darling dresses hanging out in the garden together….what could be nicer.

blue…it’s such a pretty colour…it’s like she’s a fairy in the sky…..

so happy Jan…they took me a long,long time to paint
they were commissioned by one of Scott’s work acquaintances who have two little blonde daughters…they gave me complete freedom to paint as i wished and this was what i came up with for them….it was so hard to say goodbye to them….they recently visited so i could have a professsional photo taken of them….to make a larger file….and my fondness for them grew even more :D

hellooooo ginny,,,, nah…can’t make real ones….but i try to make them as real as possible when i paint them by adding lace n things….these fairy princesses half stuff stuck all over them..thead, ribbon, lace….glompy gold paint…great fun!! :D thx for the lovely compliment!
