Yes she does seem a liitle sad, perhaps she waits by the shore for her beloved’s ship…. Each night…. Hoping, praying for his return from some far off land… I’d say he’s a pearl trader…. I hope she hasnt to wait too much longer :)). Thx so much Simone

Quite different seeing so much more black and less obvious line work, but it makes it very strong. This girl to me also appears to have a nationality, although I can’t place where. It makes her very intreuging. (and I’ve spelt that word 5 different ways and it still doesn’t look right!)

thanx Matthew, i like a lot of solid black, in the past, i used to fill large areas with black ink, particularly the hair or the dress detail…and always outlined in black ink… i’ve changed quite a bit over the last couple of years, but this was a bit of a return to that style, incorporating digital elements tho,... i was feeling a loss of confidence… funny one returns to what feels ‘safe’ :)

But sometimes as we continue to evolve we can forget the older tricks that are still valid and work well, so it’s nice to travel back in time occasionally, you never know what you’ll find :-)
