Laugh out loud. this is so very cute!! At least the elephant is in her garden and not in her living room.

In this region, if you say there is an elephant in in your living room, no one wants to admit it. The Elephant in the living room is the person with an addictive illness, like alcoholism or even drug addiction. An elephant in the living room is often ignored and no one wants to talk about it.

So this is why I laugh out loud looking at this cute image… The little one is obviously thrilled to be playing with this ele.

But I do want to clarify, after I commented earlier, I realized that most folks commented on the wonderful whimsy of childhood and new life your drawing illustrates. I do see the little character is holding a flower and perhaps pregnant. For me I see a hint of escape in this drawing. I mean there were days of laughter and mud-cake making in my backyard as well… I really did have a wonderfully fun childhood. I hope you don’t think I am terribly off? I do love this picture, and yes I love the way you have a gentle way of drawing my bashful self out in your work.

Complimentary colour tones, tones of things like the fence, the dark lines which split up the patchwork of her head scarf, the colours of the flowers on the left and the little blush of her face. A wonderful little scene, for sure :o)

How did I miss this!
I think it’s fabulous. If I was to block the foreground for a sec I’d say I love the grass colour with the red flowers and the fence. But then you look at the whole piece with a million colours and it’s all complimentary and happy and vibrant. I feel like I’m in a whimsical backyard that exists in the imagination of children. I guess this is how a backyard looks to everyone when their young, anything is a possibility!
