Karin Taylor
replied
thank you so much sweet Pippy! :) xxxx
Pip Gerard
Do you use a wacom tablet to colour? I would assume you would… I can’t imagine you doing all that work with a mouse?
Pen Mouse’s are fantastic… I have to upgrade mine as I’ve worn it out :D
Karin Taylor
replied
Hiya Pippy, nooo, i don’t have a Wacom…i gave it a whirl once and couldn’t get used to it. I do the colouring with digital brushes and the mouse, but the main drawing is done first, so that is really the crux of it…having the hand drawing done and shaded completely :) thank you so much for the lovely comments! ps I don’t have a pen mouse, just a cumbersome normal kinda one :)
Pip Gerard
It took me a couple of days to get used to my wacom pen mouse… because it’s a new way of having to navigate. But once I did… I was very glad I perserved. I just use a pen mouse constanly now… not just to draw or use photoshop… for everything on the computer.
Karin Taylor
replied
yeah you’re right Pip, probably didn’t spend enough time with it, but i borrowed it, so had to give it back :)
maybe have to try again sometime :)

catherine walker
you have a cult following karin ..and I’m one of the members..hhha!!
she is so gorgeous..what to say ..wonderful expression..such a darling little lady!!!
and did I tell you that most of t your painted girls look a lot like you to me
they really do..!..I think they are all you ..in all your different facets..like a beautiful diamond
Karin Taylor
replied
lol, thank you cathy!!
maybe they are all me, my sis Missy would always say this, and the same about another artist friend of hers, and i didn’t like her saying it, because i couldn’t see the resemblance, but now i do see it, and at least i am conscious or consciously putting myself into them, regardless of race or colour….it’s a weird thing, but i believe it’s a common thing with artists? have you heard that before? do you put yourself into your paintings too catherine? they have a spiritual depth to them, is that your search I wonder? :) xx
lacitrouille
She looks so serious and vulnerable. The colourings and composition are gorgeous. :)
Karin Taylor
replied

udonchow
What a sweet lookingchild, love those big innocent eyes of hers! Is she a fairy and those are wings behind her back? :D
Karin Taylor
replied
i think she’s just wearing some fairy wings, but she could be a fairy…but really i drew her as a girl dressing up as a fairy …. she’s a little aboriginal girl in the outback of Australia…. altho she doesn’t have much, she’s happy out and about in the natural world with the animals she calls her friends :) thank you so much Ellen :) xx
linskudd

Karin Taylor
replied
Hiya David, thank you very much, i’m glad you like Binda :)
Natsky
Seems like there are a lot of people with amazing taste…Binda is pretty popular Karin! Still trying to work out why she reminds me of me…been looking at her for 5 mins now…maybe it’s the tomboy in jeans thing…not sure…except that she is gorgeous.
Karin Taylor
replied
i think there’s something of you in her expression and her eyes perhaps Natsky :) and maybe her stance and jeans…it’s so cool you can see yourself in her….you know what I think…...that everyone i see and think is special in sme way gets into the paintings lol…as well as myself…it’s like we’re all conjoined somehow within it :) x
Natsky
She seems firmly planted and ready to face what the world has to offer too!
Being a part of your artwork is a special thing…I am honoured and feel all gooey inside. Thank you for the treasure that it represents. Big hugs…
catherine walker
Hi again Karin, you know that’s why I mentioned it to you..
because others have said that I put myself into my own paintings..
and I could never see it..hha! I said that’s not me…hha!!
I thought some of my women had nothing in common with me
then I looked at the settings ..not so much the bodies and the faces themselves
..and I could see why they said that …
In your case..it’s even more obvious to me..the faces are aso gorgeous and a
lot of You coming through each face…
wow..I some of the faces I paint are so OFF ..so to speak..that it’s insulting to think they are me
but your faces seem to have so much wonder and love
that it’s a great compliment to you .
xxxxooo
Karin Taylor
replied
I love your women cathy, what you say is how I senses this journey within you comes right out in your art, something deeply spiritual and perfumed with this delightful aroma, something of the east combine with the west and
Your childhood, something of dreamings and musings from both past and future emanate through your work to me..when k view then I sense a tenderness and a gentleness that is full of sweetness and genuity, something to be treasured, I view your works like I am sitting down to enjoy a sumptuous feast and they never disappoint, always they are enthralling, and you provide so much for the viewer to feast upon, colour and detail!! Simply sumptuous :)))) xxx
catherine walker
Thankyou so much ..once again fabulous painting .and you a fabulous artist ..
