during my recent holiday I had time to relax and meditate, to connect with nature….this is an expression of my impression of Tangalooma. There are dolphins there, with whom i connected daily and a lot of sealife, including birds, seastars, rays, fish….
the original drawing is gifted to Jack, a fellow artist i met on Tangalooma and now friend, who really appreciated this drawing so much, that I felt greatly encouraged….

How nice that you met an artist on your holiday. This work is very moody and evocative, and as you know I’ve been going down this path of late, it’s so weird I’m sure we are connected somehow. I guess having said that we all are connected. Geez lucky Jack to get a K T original. I had a dream the other night that I was in a tidal creek, floating down the stream with enormous stingrays swimming underneath me. Normally this would freak me out but there was a sense of calming and reassurance in the dream. I’m so happy to see new work from you Karin xxoo

I am beginning to think you are influenced by Frida Kahlo, as you are in all the works of this new series…although this is dark, I don’t find it bleak or moody…rather hopeful on the contrary…there is a boldness to the lines and a strength to the entire image that speaks of determination and staying power…really well done Karin…
