yes,she is definitely about connection. You can’t look at her face and not hear a voice.
I look at her and I have so much to say of her captivating presence, but I can’t find the words without a bunch of blah blah.Even the colours evoke a certain emotional depth.Really beautiful Karin xo
Karin Taylor
replied
she is a healer, i’m so happy you can hear her voice….she’s very quiet, the words aren’t so much spoken, but I’m glad the message comes thru….i can’t find the right words either….but this came from my soul :) x thank you beautiful flower :) x

The bird is in safe hands now. The bird is not alone like so many that are smaller and innocent such as a child or someone different and picked on by someone larger feeding on there lack of defences. There are many that need the safe gloved hand and the peace that comes from understanding and genuine care.
Karin Taylor
replied
yes, Cate…the bird is safe now, in the hands of the healer…..the one who whispers quietly divine words of solitude and comfort…..it’s amazing how the mind and body are connected…..when healing begins in the mind, the body will follow….it’s a complex connection….i think she speaks of peace for the wounded, not only the physical, but the mental scarring that comes from battles fought and sometimes lost…..but to win is to know one’s own heart and mind and spirit and to be sure of what we hope for….we don’t have to have all the answers, just the knowledge that we are living right and true to ourselves and if we acknowledge a Maker, then to him also xxxxx
bev langby
Stunning and so delicate , u sure do have a way with faces …......
Karin Taylor
replied
thank you so much bev, i’m working on faces as much as possible, there was a time when, i only ever placed ‘dots’ for eyes…...and had no noses or mouths…it’s been challenging and enjoyable to push beyond these self imposed limitations and i often now find myself observing people’s faces out in public and tracing invisible lines over their features to help remember the contours… :) x

Janis Zroback
She is very serious about her vocation isn’t she? But I think it takes a lot out of her…dedication is very hard at times, and then you have to ask yourself who is for me? Wonderful art Karin…I have to brood on them quite a while and absorb it all before I write and that is what good art is all about…
Karin Taylor
replied
...ah yes, she is Janis very serious indeed, and you are right dedication is hard…but it is her life’s work and nothing less would do :) Tired but satisfied, sad but fulfilled, knowing she is doing what she knows to be right….if only we all knew exactly what was the right thing to do on every occasion, in every situation….but even knowing, it’s not always easy….thank you for taking time with these, to dwell on them, and sit with each one a while, it means a great deal to me Janis :) x

Mui-Ling Teh
Hey she kinda looks like a character from the movie “Witches” whihch I saw not too long ago. This would go so well with a piece of children’s literature! It is also making me think of the National Protrait Gallery which I visited yesterday.
Karin Taylor
replied
Mui-Ling, thank you, that’s a great compliment! I haven’t seen nor heard of that movie, but flattered to think it reminds you of one of the characters…and even moreso that it reminds you of the NPG! WOWee :) thank you xo
Jan Landers
karin, my friend…..i adore these new pieces…..the nature lover in me so feels the connection here….i do sense a little sadness here, though, in her eyes….maybe for the world in which we live where not everyone honors life the way her heart does…??? this is so moving to me…..
Karin Taylor
replied
thank you jan, the connection is in a way the real message i think, there is truly for some, healing when experiencing nature, particular for those that enjoy a deep connection with it…..there is so much sadness at the moment, you are right….. i love how you put it…. maybe for the world in which we live where not everyone honors life the way her heart does that is so incredible to me ;) xxx
Christine Jones

Janis Zroback
It worries me that her eyes are so sad…
Karin Taylor
replied
it’s alright Janis
Ive been down lately, and so has another of my friends
This is I guess my attempt to put that into something positive and gain/shed some perspective on that. As friends, we want to be there
For each other when the other one is injured I’d wounded or sad, and
I’d can make us feel sad to see them suffering… I think I put it into pictures better than words and it’s new to me, letting my emotions influence my work… It will all work out I’m sure :)
silentcries
Karin!! i love love the colors in this piece!! the softness and textures.. it’s beautiful!! but yea, like Janis, i kinda worry for her.. I guess she’s sad for the lil guy.. Although she’s confident that she can treat him, and that he’ll be well again, she’s still upset nonetheless to see him attacked and now in pain.. she’s got a beautiful loving heart, Karin.. Love her~ ^ _ ^ the lil guy.. he’ll be safe.. with her around, he’ll be safe.. X)
Karin Taylor
replied
in many ways she is the person I wish to be
In my romantic notion of what friendship us
That could somehow bless and heal my friends
Pain and even my own, through tenderness, understanding,
Love and nurture….. Whilst acknowledging how ones connection
To nature can be a powerful healing tool also…
She feels sad fir the little bird in her care, both know pain
And long for healing, here they connect on their journey and
That connection in itself is a source of healing and wellness.
Glomps!!!!! Xxxx
