Twiggyesque

Black felt pen coloured in photoshop
hope you like “Twiggyesque” :)
Having seen works which are printed onto transparent perspex, then mounted onto timber with 4 large screws leaving a small gap between the transparent perspex surface and the timber…i wanted to create a similar effect.
There is a tshirt available in this design…please click here
Twiggyesque belongs to the following groups:

P.S i have screenprinted on the reverse of perpsex one of the best ways of achieving an image
easy to do digitally also these days Karin
Karin Taylor
replied
ahh…right….that’s so interesting….do you still work in the print biz? you were doing screenprinting i know….well, i dooo love that effect….it strikes me as very contemporary and flash/modern… i have a real thing for it….i talked to my framer but he’s not likely to get involved…it’s something i’d have to explore myself someday…for now, I’ll just play pretend :) lol
Karin Taylor
replied
....guess it’s more about having the image printed onto the perspex first anyway…not really anything to do with a framer….
blamo
checkout a digital printers Karin so simple to do A lot of exhibitions have work like that now days
Karin Taylor
replied
okay…i’ll do that blamo…just didn’t know where to begin…thnx for the heads up!!! :)))))))
CateTownsend
This is so different Karin. I was intrigued by the perspex first time I saw it I loved the idea. There are so many different ideas for producing work out there. When I first started in photoshop I loved the layering and the transparency. I want to achieve that in my art as well. She is lovely Karin, I still can’t help seeing you in her though.
Karin Taylor
replied
it is very different Cate…it’s more like the initial stages of a major painting for me…it’s at a very raw stage…...i really enjoyed being able to capture her at such an early stage and yet being able to ‘finish’ her in a different way than the painting and pastel work which i’d normally do…i set out to use some layers and give a touch of watercolour, something gentle…and then i recalled how much i love the perspex idea…started playing with that and came up with this…at the time, the only thing I had in mind was a tshirt…the ideas to turn it into a print as well seemed to come after i’d made it into a tee…. i am so happy we have so many mediums at our disposal, we are so lucky aren’t we :) xxxxx
