Next in line is CHUNKIE Indian ….a little indian squaw who reminds me of Pocahontas…she is standing near her tee pee, making friends with all the birds that flock to her each day, because she is gentle and kindly and sings them sweet songs…

Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

CHUNKIE Indian belongs to the following groups:

Animation Domination, Art of the Doll, Birds and Creatures of Flight, Childhood, Cutest of the Cute, Miniatures and Mammoths, Mixed Media, Myths, Legends and Fairytales and Woman Appreciation Available for sale as

Greeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints and Posters

are they cotton ear tips died??? You’re so creative.

  • Karin Taylorcommunity helper replied

hehe….no, but good guessin…would you believe they are actually flower buds from the little tree in my neighbours backyard which overhangs our fence…that’s what the flowers look like before they bloom (the same flower I’ve used in a lot of the CHUNKIES) :) xx

  • frozenfa

    frozenfa

AAAAAA!!!! am absolutely loving this, Karin!!! there’s so much details.. i love her hair.. i love the lil birds and flowers.. the trees and background looks just perfect!! did you assemble in papers in real life, or was it photoshop? i love her hair, Karin!! and the materials you picked for her clothes.. just lovely!! and ooOOO!!! is that like a camp-fire? or was it a tent? i love how it looks like burning fire! XD is that matchsticks or plasticine too? Oo” LOVE IT, KARIN!! XD

  • Karin Taylorcommunity helper replied

Hi lil fa…so long since we’ve met on RB….wonderful to see your lil TIM figure, cheers my heart always…..

Thank you for the lovely comments, wow!!! You notice everything…I forgot to explain in the description about all those things…

    trees and background photoshop
materials for clothes hessian cloth, beaded necklace, headband created in photoshop
teepee/wigwam/fire matchsticks and plasticine, with an inserte spray of unopened flower buds from the next door neighbour’s garden…ooo…
    feather and flowers real props

  • Karin Taylorcommunity helper replied

Amazing details…they just get better & better. And your photoshop work is soooo good….you’ve taken to it so well. Keep ‘em coming….can’t wait to see what’s next.

  • Karin Taylorcommunity helper replied

aw, thank you Chris…so pleased you think it’s a good one….the photoshopping takes a fair while, which i tend to forget about, that each one needs a time allocation just to work on that aspect…hehe…but it’s very enjoyable getting lost in the time portal!

I have to consider which one i’ll do next now…hmmm, could be a …........pirate?

Matt T asked me whether i’ll do a diver, i’d like to (with mask/snorkel/flippers i guess) but geez it could be a tricky one :) lol

ps: just wondering.. will your neighbor’s tree suddenly go bare one day? hehehehe!!! XD

  • Karin Taylorcommunity helper replied

giggles…i hope not….i just sneak up to the fence…which is higher than my head…and reach up sneaky as i can…and pluck whatever i can reach….the only other flowers in our garden at the moment are the frangipanis over the other side of the fence…and they are too large…although I could resize them, i didn’t think of that :)

Let’s hope the neighbours never find out hey ;) although they are really nice people, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind too much !

One thing … as you mentioned the title Indian ... being Indian (actual) ... I think you meant Red Indian … I am not complaining … but when you refer as Indian … I thaught otherwise.

  • Carmen Cilliers

    Carmen Cilliers

You have WAY TOO MUCH TALENT for one person Karin! This series is awsome and I am in agreement, the details are wonderful! You should be using Fimo and baking these, you’ll use the figures again in the future. Your NYE resolution is paying off! xxx

  • Karin Taylorcommunity helper replied

thank you very much Carmen, you are very very kind to say that!! I know i should have used something more permanent, but I really can’t afford it…... the plasticine is costly enough, and that’s a fraction of what fimo would be in the amounts i need….i know it’s disappointing as much for me, as everyone else :( but i just did them for fun, as an experiment ….as something joyful and simple to be enjoyed…they seem to be much more popular than i ever imagined!! hehe…..xxx

  • georgiegirl

    georgiegirl

This is my fave Chunkie so far!!!! ok… and the Geisha and China Chunkies too!!!! Love them!!! You’ve done such a marvellous job. Sometimes its hard to tell what’s real and what’s photoshopped! Not that it matters either way, they are all so awesome with such amazing details… Brilliant work ;D
Also, in ref to the neighbour’s obviously beautiful tree/bush… it needs pruning every year anyway, so you’re actually helping out!!

  • Karin Taylorcommunity helper replied

lol, thank you georgiegirl, i’m partial to the indian too :) xxxxx
