my best girlfriend Marvette from school had dark skin and huge brown eyes and afro hair…she was a southsea islander/aboriginal …..the most gorgeous looking girl, with the gentlest spirit of anyone i’ve ever known….this reminds me so much of Marve (Marvy Lou or Mar Who! – as we used to tease her mercilessly lol).......Marvette named her daughter Sarah, and Sarah is red haired and fair skinned with freckles! Her dad is white….. I named my daughter Sarah also… many years after school, we met up, to discover both of us had named our little girls Sarah…what a funny coincidence!!! Marvette writes scripts for movies now… here is one she did about her little girl, a number of marvettes relatives are in this video/movie, including her mother, and Sarah is the little girl who stars in the show! You can see Susan’s Birthday Party here!!

aw, thanx for looking at it Anita, so sorry the sound is missing….
the story is all about a little white girl ‘Susan’, who is actually ‘koori’ or ‘aboriginal/indigenous’ – but she is teased at school, because she looks white and the other ‘koori’ children don’t believe ‘Susan’ is koori because her skin is fair with freckles. Susan’s mum is koori, but her father is a white man…. Susan’s mum suggests that she has a birthday coming up soon, and she could invite all the other children to her place for a fancy dress birthday party…... they come along, and see that Susan’s mum is koori and there is another little girl who looks white, that also is koori…..and they become friends….and then after the party, Sarah finds acceptance from her peers at school….and the lesson is, regardless of skin colour – we are all the same inside, all brothers and sisters….that is how their family treated me….i felt ‘koori’ and i felt loved. they are special people. Marve’s mum is Maureen, and they work on these films together. Her mum was like my aunty…she loved me and my family and made us to feel accepted, acceptable and loved when we came to live in Kingscliff …. we will always remember their great kindness….

previously we had lived in another part of australia, and had not been well accepted by the indigenous peoples, due to my father being a policeman and upholder of the law, in a place where police were despised, so for us, it was especially wonderful that the Logan family showed us such kindness and acceptance.

I hope you can get the sound fixed and actually have a listen too Anita…..thx again for taking the time to care, to listen, to watch, it means a lot to me… :)

yes, yes I did…i’ve been in touch with Marve, and she liked it very much – Marve has the biggest eyes you’ve ever seen, they are dreamy…always seemed off in a happy faraway place…such a contented and happy soul, at peace….i always wished i was more like her :) thanx for all the beaut comments and faves fa…i’m so sorry i can’t answer much tonight…very tired…will try tomorrow :) xxxxxx hugs
